KOTA KINABALU (Nov 3) — In an unprecedented show of unity, Sabah’s youth leaders from across the political spectrum will come together this weekend for a landmark dialogue aimed at fostering issue-based, respectful, and forward-looking political engagement.
The event, titled “Bah-Bincang Kita: Sabah Pre-Election Youth Forum 2025”, is being jointly organised by a coalition of civic groups — including Community Empowerment Initiative Sabah, Gerakan Anak Sabah, Hai Mandak, Sabah Youth Movement, SEEN, Spade, and The Sip Sip Show.
The forum will convene 120 young participants and representatives from all major political parties for a closed-door discussion focused on governance, youth empowerment, and Sabah’s long-term development.
The public can follow proceedings via livestream on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
“This forum is more than just a talk — it’s a statement that Sabah’s young generation is ready to shape a more mature political culture,” said the organising committee.
Political parties across the board have responded positively, with youth leaders from DAP, GRS, Keadilan, MUDA, PIS, SAPP, STAR, UPKO, and Warisan confirming their participation.
The organisers pledged to ensure that each participant enjoys an equal platform, free from bias or hierarchy. “We are creating a level playing field — only ideas and solutions matter here,” they said.
With over half of Sabah’s electorate now under 40, the organisers view this forum as a critical opportunity to engage and empower young voters.
They hope to replace cynicism and partisanship with civic understanding and constructive dialogue.
The event will be funded entirely through community crowdfunding to ensure its independence, with a detailed financial report to be published after the forum for transparency.
“Ultimately,” said the organisers, “we want Sabahans to see politics not as division, but as collaboration — a space where young people can learn, lead, and create meaningful change together.”
