KLANG: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul underscored the need for civil servants to adopt a forward-moving mindset rather than remain stuck in outdated routines.
He emphasised that today’s public service landscape demands individuals who are not only competent in administrative tasks but also dynamic, analytical and socially aware.
Johari explained that civil servants form the bridge between government policies and the public’s lived experience.
This role requires clarity of thought, emotional intelligence and the ability to respond quickly to emerging issues. He stressed that complacency would weaken the efficiency of national governance.
He highlighted the importance of continuous engagement with knowledge-building platforms such as the Malaysia MADANI Nationhood Course, which helps public officers deepen their understanding of civic responsibility.
