Police Question Families of Men Killed in Durian Tunggal Incident; Audio Recording Submitted

KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations into the fatal shooting of three men in Durian Tunggal have progressed as police recorded statements from their family members today.

CID Director Datuk M. Kumar said three relatives arrived with lawyers and surrendered a mobile phone said to contain audio evidence related to the incident.

CyberSecurity Malaysia assisted police in obtaining voice samples for analysis.

To date, seven witnesses comprising family members and medical personnel have been interviewed.

Kumar reiterated that the investigation will be impartial, especially as the families dispute claims that the victims had assaulted police officers.

The shooting on Nov 24 occurred after one of the men allegedly swung a machete at a police corporal.

All three were believed to be part of a robbery syndicate active across several states.
