PUTRAJAYA: Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir has reiterated that any decision on the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) must be guided by constitutional principles rather than political considerations.
He said the status of Bahasa Melayu as the national language and language of knowledge remains a core element of Malaysia’s education framework.
Zambry noted that all education streams, including vernacular and international schools, share the responsibility of strengthening proficiency in Bahasa Melayu.
He added that MOHE will continue promoting multilingualism by enhancing English and other languages, while ensuring national identity and values remain firmly embedded in the higher education system.
