KUALA LUMPUR: Marhamah Rosli was sworn in as a Senator at the Dewan Negara yesterday, finalising her appointment as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs).
The ceremony took place before Dewan Negara President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, who confirmed that the appointment was made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in line with constitutional provisions.
Awang Bemee said Marhamah’s senatorial term will run until Dec 15, 2028, in accordance with the Federal Constitution.
He also extended his congratulations and expressed confidence that she would carry out her duties with dedication and accountability.
The appointment follows Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of Cabinet changes under the MADANI administration, which included portfolio reshuffles and the appointment of new deputy ministers.
