From refrigerators to wine cellars: Samsung pushes personalised AI kitchen ecosystem forward ahead of CES 2026
SEOUL — Samsung Electronics is preparing to redefine what a “smart kitchen” truly means with the unveiling of its enhanced AI kitchen technology lineup at CES 2026. Central to this evolution is the integration of Google Gemini–powered AI Vision, extending beyond simple connectivity into context-aware intelligence.
The upgraded Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub reflects this philosophy clearly. While previous generations of smart refrigerators relied heavily on manual user inputs and pre-registered databases, the latest AI Vision system expands significantly: detecting more ingredients, identifying processed foods without prior setup and recognising user-labelled mystery containers.
This evolution transforms refrigerators from passive storage devices into intelligent kitchen managers. Users gain clearer visibility of what they have, can track expiration more confidently and reduce unnecessary food waste. The refrigerator becomes an active assistant — aware of ingredients, routines and preferences.
Samsung is not stopping at refrigeration. The company will also unveil the Bespoke AI Wine Cellar, featuring AI Vision recognition similar to the refrigerator. A top-mounted camera detects labels, logs bottle movements and maps exact storage locations — a convenience typically reserved for high-end professional wine storage systems. Through SmartThings AI Wine Manager, users can browse their collection, view curated wine insights and receive pairing recommendations, making wine storage more interactive and personalised.
Beyond artificial intelligence, Samsung is also redefining kitchen aesthetics. The company will introduce a harmonised stainless-look finish across refrigerators, ranges and OTR microwaves, creating visually unified kitchen environments.
Technical functionality also sees real engineering improvements. The upcoming 3-Door French Door refrigerator introduces zero-clearance installation and reduced door depth for easier interior access. Meanwhile, Samsung’s upgraded slide-in range delivers safer controls and enhanced durability. The forthcoming DualVent OTR microwave addresses a core limitation of traditional designs by significantly boosting smoke and steam capture efficiency, especially from front burners.
Samsung executives emphasise that these enhancements are not simply upgrades — they represent a forward shift from devices that respond to commands to appliances that understand context, intent and lifestyle needs.
Jeong Seung Moon highlighted that AI Vision powered with Google Gemini is designed to create kitchens that “think along with you”. The system learns how households shop, cook and store food, gradually tailoring suggestions and interactions.
Industry analysts expect Samsung’s announcement to influence the trajectory of home appliance innovation, with AI kitchens expected to become mainstream over the next decade. With CES 2026 set as the global stage, Samsung is positioning itself at the forefront of an era where home appliances evolve from helpful tools into smart domestic partners.
