Kota Kemuning State Assemblyman Pledges Support for “ASEZ Reduce Crime Together” at HELP University

Kota Kemuning, 18 August 2025 — State Assemblyman for Kota Kemuning,  Preakas Sampunathan, yesterday joined community leaders, academics, and youth representatives at HELP University for the Forum “ASEZ Reduce Crime Together”.

The forum, organised by ASEZ, explored practical approaches to tackling crime and building safer communities.

During the event, Preakas signed the Agreement on Support for “Reduce Crime Together”, reinforcing his commitment to collaborative efforts in crime prevention.

“Reducing crime is not just the responsibility of the authorities — it begins with all of us,” Preakas said.

“When neighbours look out for one another, when communities engage constructively with law enforcement, and when young people choose positive pathways, we create an environment where crime has no room to grow.”

The forum emphasised that preventing crime requires a whole-of-society approach, combining education, awareness, and proactive community engagement.

From reporting suspicious activities to fostering youth leadership and providing support networks for vulnerable groups, every individual can contribute meaningfully to safety in their neighbourhood.

Preakas praised ASEZ for mobilising students and young leaders to play a role in public safety. “I believe forums like this are vital. They remind us that reducing crime isn’t just about punishment — it’s about prevention, education, and building strong communities that leave no one behind,” he added.

As Kota Kemuning’s representative,  Preakas reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that strengthen social cohesion, reduce crime rates, and promote trust between the public and law enforcement.
