LAHAD DATU, Nov 1 – The Lahad Datu UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth machinery is currently at maximum readiness in facing the Sabah State Election (PRN) which is expected to be held in the near future.
Lahad Datu Division UMNO Youth chief, Datuk Seri Anil Sandhu, said that thorough preparations had been made involving various aspects including logistics, manpower and the implementation of an organised and comprehensive campaign strategy.
“UMNO and BN Lahad Datu youth are ready for the 17th Sabah general election with an organized campaign, strategy, including digital work, field programs and also a young voter-friendly approach.”
“UMNO/BN youth are not only prepared in terms of logistics and manpower, but are also waiting for an announcement from BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, on where this party will contest and will then go all out to make a fighting move.”
“The Youth machinery is ready for the real field. This is not just a matter of politics, but a struggle to defend the future of the people and the continued development of Lahad Datu as well as strengthening the spirit of unity and solidarity with BN component parties at the grassroots level,” he told UMNO Online.
According to Dr Anil, UMNO/BN Youth plays an important role not only in political campaigning, but also in reaching out to young voters with a new, fresher and more inclusive approach.
“We want to ensure that the voices of the young people of Lahad Datu are heard. Youth are not just supporters, but the main movers who bring the message of stability, unity and development for the future of Sabah.”
“Every step that has been taken is proof that UMNO/BN Lahad Datu Youth is committed to defending the development agenda brought by the previous government. We do not want Sabah to return to rhetorical politics and division,” he stressed.
At the same time, he said, UMNO/BN Lahad Datu Youth always prioritized field work by approaching communities of various races and backgrounds to hear firsthand about their problems and needs.
“We go out into the field every week to meet with youth, small traders, fishermen, farmers and rural communities. From there we understand the pulse of the people and bring real solutions,” he said.
