KOTA BELUD, Oct 30 – Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, confirmed that BN will field a candidate in the N.08 Pintasan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) in the 17th State Election.
He said this when attending the Village Kenduri Majlis in Kampung Nanamun, Kota Belud, last night. The event was organised by Tadzul Radim, Chief Executive Officer of ABM Sabah Region.
According to Bung Moktar, all candidates proposed by the party are qualified, but BN will only choose the candidate with the most potential to win (winnable) and be accepted by the people.
“All the proposed candidates have their respective qualifications, but we will choose the best candidate, the candidate who is capable of winning and carrying the people’s voice. I call on all BN machinery to unite and not be divided,” he said.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Nur Fikri Halim bin Thakdim, 21, a fish entrepreneur from Kampung Pintasan, when met, said he hoped the candidate chosen would be able to bring development to their area.
We in Pintasan just want elected representatives who will actually go down to the field and develop our village,” he said.
Another resident, Jamlan Makuntang, also expressed hope that the candidate who wins the 17th general election will focus on the tourism and agricultural development agenda in the Pintasan area.
