KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans have no reason to reject Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the 17th Sabah Legislative Assembly (DUN) General Election (GE).
The head of the Sabah Love Party (PCS) Bingkor division, Johari Tahir, said this was because the government led by Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor had proven its ability to administer the state effectively and centered on the interests of the people.
He said that since GRS led the administration in 2020, Sabah has enjoyed political stability, strong economic growth and the implementation of various development initiatives that directly benefit the people.
“We need to assess honestly. There is no reason to reject GRS because this is the government that defends Sabah’s interests, implements financial reforms and ensures development reaches the villages,” he said in a statement, here yesterday.
He said the GRS government had succeeded in increasing state revenue to more than RM6 billion by 2024, in addition to introducing various initiatives to help various segments of the people, including the state’s youth and students.
He said the implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Roadmap has also had a major impact through the construction of rural roads, the distribution of water and electricity supplies, and the improvement of education and health facilities.
“People can see significant changes in the villages… better roads, increased economic opportunities, and young people are now able to work in their own states,” he said.
Johari stressed that GRS has succeeded in uniting local parties under one big umbrella, making it a symbol of unity and a common voice for the people of Sabah.
“GRS is a platform for the unification of the people of Sabah regardless of party or race. We cannot be divided anymore because only unity will ensure that Sabah remains strong,” he said.
He said PCS Bingkor would continue to strengthen grassroots work to explain the success of GRS and ensure that the people continue to give the coalition a mandate for the continuation of development under the SMJ 2030 Plan.
“Sabah is now on the right track under GRS. This is the time for the people to continue moving forward together and not turn back,” he said.
