KOTA KINABALU (Nov 3) — STARSabah Kepayan Division chairman Bernard A. Logijin has unveiled a forward-looking development framework aimed at transforming Kepayan Commercial Centre into a green, innovative, and economically vibrant hub for the future.
The plan focuses on six development thrusts — infrastructure upgrades, entrepreneurship promotion, social welfare improvement, youth and education empowerment, environmental sustainability, and citizen involvement in transparent governance.
Speaking before more than 200 residents at a community gathering, Bernard said the revitalisation of Kepayan requires a balance of growth and sustainability.
“Our mission is to turn Kepayan into a model of progress — a place that thrives economically while maintaining harmony, cleanliness, and environmental integrity,” he said.
He added that beautification projects, improved traffic systems, and stronger civic participation will play major roles in making Kepayan a better place to live and work.
Bernard, who will contest the N25 Kepayan seat in the upcoming Sabah State Election, thanked the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) for its support.
“As a son of Kepayan, I want to ensure that this community continues to grow while staying united and inclusive.
Together with SAPP, we can deliver long-term stability and prosperity,” he said.
Bernard, who graduated from Keele University in the United Kingdom with honours in History and Sociology, previously served as Personal Secretary to former Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Kenny Chua during the Warisan administration.
Also present at the event were STARSabah deputy chairman Kenneth Chua, SAPP advisor Datuk Philip Yong, and division leaders Datuk Chong Pit Fah and Gee Tian Siong.
