KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 4 — Romanian-born rider Cristian Raileanu delivered a stellar performance to claim the overall title at the Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2025, steering Malaysia Pro Cycling (MPC) to an emphatic team victory as the eight-day race wrapped up on Sunday night.
Raileanu successfully retained the Raudah Cahaya Foundation Yellow Jersey for the general classification, clocking a cumulative time of 56 hours, 46 minutes, and 58 seconds, a result that also secured MPC the Best Team Award of the competition.
TSS X Keropok Bayu Cycling Team took second place in the team standings, while crowd favourites Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) — representing the host state — rounded out the podium in third.
MPC’s dominance was reinforced by their young Swiss prodigy Jonas Muller, who held on to the MSNT White Jersey as the Best Under-23 Rider, underscoring the team’s depth and consistency throughout the 887.7-kilometre tour.
Meanwhile, Muhamad Hakimi Haiqal Ahmad Sabri of RCF Cycling Team earned the KBS Orange Jersey for Best Local Club Rider, highlighting the strong participation from Malaysian teams.
The Armed Forces Cycling Team (ATM) also celebrated a double success, clinching two prestigious jerseys — the Ladang Rakyat Green Jersey for Best Sprinter through Mohamad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Halil, and the TDM Berhad Polka Dot Jersey for Best Climber, won by Muhammad Zawawi Azman.
Featuring 133 cyclists from local and international teams, this year’s edition of Tour Gateh D’Tranung covered a challenging 887.7km route across scenic routes throughout Terengganu, combining coastal stretches, inland climbs, and vibrant community stops that showcased the state’s cycling spirit.
