Sarawak Aims to Double Economy by 2030 — Uggah

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said Sarawak is on track to double its economy from RM148.2 billion in 2024 to RM282 billion by 2030 under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

Speaking at the 29th Unimas Convocation Ceremony, Uggah said the state will harness natural resources, technology, and skilled talent to grow high-value industries that generate inclusive prosperity.

“Our goal is to create opportunities for all Sarawakians so that no one is left behind,” he said.

He urged graduates to contribute to the state’s transformation, particularly in high-tech and high-skill sectors that drive the new economy.

Uggah, who is also Pro-Chancellor of Unimas, said Sarawak’s future is bright and firmly aligned with PCDS 2030’s vision of an economically strong, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable state.

Also present were Tan Sri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie and Professor Dr Ahmad Hatta Rasit.
