Meta has quietly enabled access to its Meta AI website in Malaysia, marking another step in the company’s gradual rollout of its artificial intelligence ecosystem across new markets.
The platform allows users to converse with Meta’s AI assistant, generate multimedia content, and explore videos created by other users. While the web-based version is now live, the same AI-powered features have yet to appear within Meta’s mobile applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in Malaysia.
Introduced in October last year, Meta AI represents the company’s bid to position itself alongside global AI leaders by embedding its assistant across major apps and a dedicated website.
Users can access the assistant by typing “@Meta AI” in chat or selecting the Meta AI icon — though these tools remain inactive locally for now.
Analysts note that the Malaysian launch signals Meta’s intent to expand AI accessibility in Southeast Asia, with a full rollout of integrated app features likely to follow in the coming months.
