MENUMBOK — Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor has confirmed that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will announce its list of candidates for the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election on November 12, three days before nomination day.
Hajiji, who also chairs GRS, said the coalition has finalized its seat allocations. “Other parties can make their announcements earlier, but ours will come on November 12. We have already completed the seat distribution,” he told reporters.
The announcement was made after Hajiji attended several events in Menumbok, including the launch of the Kuala Penyu–Menumbok District Strategic Development Plan 2025–2035, the handover of SMJ housing keys, the inauguration of Masjid Nur Ihsan, and the presentation of land gazettes and community aid.
Expressing optimism about GRS’s chances, Hajiji said he is confident that the coalition’s lineup of winnable candidates will deliver victory in the November 29 election.
“If we win, we will move forward with Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0, continuing our development agenda for the state,” he said.
He also agreed that the Labuan–Sabah bridge project proposal should be revisited, describing it as an important initiative to enhance connectivity and stimulate the local economy in Menumbok and Kuala Penyu.
