Aina’s silver debut glitters brighter than gold

KUALA LUMPUR — The sun beat down on the Kuala Lumpur Petanque Arena, but Nur Iman Aina Ahmad Sabti kept her focus steady. Every throw, every breath counted.

When the final point ended 22–27, the scoreboard declared her the runner-up — yet her heart declared something more: triumph.

This was Aina’s first-ever outing in the women’s shooting event, and she walked away with silver, a feat she never imagined.

“It’s not just about winning. It’s about how far I’ve come,” she said softly, tears tracing her cheeks.

Her medal, along with Harith Muhaimin’s silver and Nuzul Azwan’s bronze, painted a proud picture of Malaysia’s emerging strength in Asian Petanque.
