JOHANNESBURG — Malaysia is expanding its economic and technological outreach to South Africa by inviting companies from the nation to participate in the Malaysia Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Park, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced during his official visit.
The Prime Minister said Malaysia is ready to finalise several MoUs on industrial cooperation, halal development, agriculture, green energy, innovation, research and TVET.
Malaysia is also exploring broader collaboration in defence, beef trade, science and technology, signalling a long-term commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
After meeting South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Anwar congratulated South Africa on becoming the first African country to assume the G20 Presidency.
He said Malaysia and South Africa have aligned priorities, with South Africa’s G20 theme — Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability — resonating with Malaysia’s goals as ASEAN Chair for 2025.
