‘Klepet’ Had 35 Minutes of Vulgar Content Removed – Director

KUALA LUMPUR: Director Sanji revealed that approximately 35 minutes of crude jokes and vulgar dialogue had to be edited out of Klepet before it was reviewed by LPF.

He explained that while some jokes remain suggestive, they were toned down enough for the film to receive a P13 classification.

“What people hear is already heavily filtered. Many scenes had to be removed, which explains the jump cuts,” he said.

Sanji highlighted that humour is subjective and depends on audience interpretation.

“I’m glad LPF deemed it acceptable,” he added.

He said he joined the project because Klepet features a unique blend of comedy elements, including animation, physical humour and spontaneous improvisation.

The story follows three friends whose motorhome adventure is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of a Ukrainian girl. The film hits cinemas on November 27.
