KOTA KINABALU — Barisan Nasional (BN) has confirmed it is supporting the formation of the new Sabah state government led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Joachim Gunsalam said both BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are backing the government, while STAR has not officially joined.
“BN and PH support the state government… STAR has not yet,” Joachim said at a press conference in Sri Gaya.
Earlier, 10 Sabah assemblymen took their oaths as members of the new Cabinet at Istana Seri Kinabalu before Tun Musa Aman.
The state government now consists of GRS (29), independents (5), UPKO (3), PH (1), KDM (1), and BN (6).
BN has also submitted the names of its candidates for minister and deputy minister positions. The party contested 44 seats in the recent election and won six.
