KUALA LUMPUR — Flood-hit areas across Terengganu, Selangor, Kelantan, Perak and Pahang continued to show encouraging recovery tonight, with fewer people taking shelter at temporary evacuation centres.
Terengganu saw one of the largest improvements, with the number of evacuees dropping to 287 from 511 earlier. Many remain at three centres in Kuala Terengganu and Marang.
Selangor also recorded progress, reporting 1,918 evacuees compared to more than 2,200 this afternoon. Several PPS have since been closed.
Kelantan’s situation has eased significantly, with only 203 evacuees still sheltering in Pasir Mas.
Perak recorded a modest decline in evacuees, though the total remains high at 3,684 people spread across 21 PPS statewide. Hilir Perak continues to be the most affected district.
Pahang registered a reduction to 200 evacuees, with centres still operating in Bera, Temerloh, Maran and Kuantan.
Conversely, Perlis recorded an increase to 1,503 evacuees, while flood numbers in Kedah remained unchanged.
