KL hit by flash floods following late-evening downpour

KUALA LUMPUR — A brief but heavy burst of rainfall this evening triggered flash floods in multiple neighbourhoods across the city.

According to operations commander Mohd Hafizan Hassan, the Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 6.55pm and immediately sent 18 personnel to the affected spots.

Flooding was reported in several well-known areas, including parts of Sentul, Titiwangsa Sentral, Kampung Chubadak Dalam, and the Jalan Ipoh corridor.

Hafizan confirmed that the floods were the result of overflowing water and subsided shortly after, with no casualties or damage recorded.

Social media platforms quickly filled with videos showing vehicles navigating through deep water and major roads near Bulatan Pahang and Jalan Tun Razak heavily congested.
