Malaysia ready to defend women’s hockey gold at 2025 SEA Games

KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Tigress are set to defend their women’s hockey title at the Thailand SEA Games, continuing their bid to remain regional champions.

Coach Mohd Nasihin Nubli Ibrahim said the squad will feature mostly experienced players, with several juniors away on World Cup duty.

He stressed that although Malaysia enter the event as the strongest-ranked team, the tournament will still require discipline and focus.

Malaysia — ranked 22nd in the world — leads the field ahead of Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia. The Tigress will face Singapore on December 11, Indonesia on December 13, and Thailand on December 16 in the group stage.
