Malaysia marched into the 2025 SEA Games men’s badminton team semi-finals after securing a commanding 3-0 win over the Philippines at the Thammasat Rangsit Gymnasium today.
Top singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao delivered the opening point with a 21-17, 21-18 victory over Jewel Angelo Albo.
Reunited pair Man Wei Chong–Soh Wooi Yik doubled Malaysia’s lead with a dominant 21-10, 21-12 performance.
The match was sealed by Justin Hoh, who held off Clarence Villaflor 21-18, 21-19.
Malaysia will face hosts Thailand in the semi-finals tomorrow.
In the women’s event, Malaysia edged Vietnam 3-1, with Pearly Tan–M Thinaah securing the crucial third point to set up a meeting with Indonesia.
