MARANG: Police are investigating two reports alleging sexual offences involving two students with disabilities (OKU) at a boys’ hostel in a local school.
District Police Chief Supt Sofian Redzuan said the complaints were made by the hostel warden, who reported that two 16-year-old students were involved in the incidents.
The first case involved a 17-year-old special needs student who claimed that a suspect attempted to sodomise him on Nov 17.
In the second case, a 13-year-old ADHD student reported a similar attempt by another 16-year-old student on Nov 20.
Sofian said both suspects have not been arrested yet, as police are working to complete the investigation due to all parties residing in the same hostel.
The case is being investigated under Sections 14(b) and 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
He described the matter as serious, urging parents and guardians to monitor their children’s social interactions more closely.
