KUALA LUMPUR: Titiwangsa Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani has said he will meet the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, to obtain official clarification on the status of the proposed redevelopment of Flat Seri Perlis 2 in Taman Datuk Keramat.
Johari, who also serves as Minister of Plantation and Commodities, said the meeting would involve Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud and relevant authorities to ensure that any future redevelopment plans fully consider the welfare and needs of existing residents.
He said residents had expressed anxiety following rumours of possible relocation and interest from developers, prompting the need for transparency and clear communication.
“At this point, there are no approved redevelopment proposals and the status of the public housing remains unchanged,” he told reporters during the Santuni Madani programme held at the flats.
Johari stressed that any redevelopment initiative must go through extensive consultations with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), relevant ministries, and the elected representative of the area.
