Sabah Christmas Celebration Highlights Spirit of Unity and Shared Humanity

The Sabah Christmas Celebration 2025 has been described by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as a meaningful platform that reinforces unity, harmony and mutual respect among the people of the state.

Hajiji said the celebration reflects Sabah’s long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence among communities of different faiths and cultural backgrounds.

According to him, the theme Hope for Peace in Love carries a universal message that transcends religion, encouraging society to uphold compassion, peace and collective responsibility.

“These values are essential in nurturing a harmonious society, especially in a diverse state like Sabah,” he said.

The official opening ceremony, held at Padang Merdeka, was officiated by Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman and attended by leaders and residents from various communities.

Hajiji stressed that the Sabah Maju Jaya development framework emphasises holistic progress that balances economic growth with social harmony and human well-being.

He added that initiatives promoting family unity and community participation are key components of a resilient and inclusive society.

The chief minister also highlighted the importance of maintaining interfaith understanding and cooperation, noting that religious celebrations provide opportunities for communities to strengthen bonds.

He expressed appreciation for the range of activities organised during the Christmas celebration, which aim to foster inclusivity and community spirit.

Hajiji believes that such celebrations reinforce Sabah’s image as a state rich in diversity yet united by shared human values.

He concluded by extending Christmas wishes to all Sabahans celebrating the occasion, expressing hope that the festive season would further strengthen unity and peace across the state.
