Malaysia Dominate Final, Defend SEA Games Hockey Title With 8–0 Victory

PETALING JAYA – Malaysia continued their impressive golden legacy in SEA Games hockey after overpowering Thailand 8–0 in the 2025 final held in Chonburi today.

At the Thailand National Sport University venue, Sarjit Singh’s men controlled the match from start to finish, outclassing the Thai squad coached by former Malaysian coach Tai Beng Hai.

Amanraj Sarwan delivered three goals, while Muhajir Abdu Rauf, Nik Aiman Nik Rozemi, Faiz Helmi Jali, Fitri Saari and Alfarico Liau contributed to the commanding scoreline.

This win extends Malaysia’s dominance to 18 SEA Games hockey gold medals, with only the 1973 edition denying them top honours.
