BUKIT MERTAJAM, Dec 21 — A police raid at a container workshop in Perai uncovered a shocking method of concealing live ammunition when officers found 21 bullets hidden inside a doll, leading to the arrest of two foreign nationals early Sunday morning.
Central Seberang Perai police chief ACP Helmi Aris said the raid was carried out at 1am by Perai police personnel. The suspects, aged 39 and 53, were detained on the spot.
A search on one suspect revealed a .38 revolver concealed in his waistband. Police then discovered bullets hidden inside a doll and a stash of drugs inside a vehicle at the scene. The seized drugs included nearly a kilogram of methamphetamine, cannabis and Eramin pills.
The case is being investigated under firearms and dangerous drugs legislation. Both suspects were remanded for seven days.
Police said firm action will continue to be taken to combat weapon possession and drug syndicates.
