KUALA LUMPUR — Papa Zola The Movie has emerged as one of Malaysia’s biggest cinematic success stories of the year after collecting RM25.6 million in just 11 days of release.
The animated family film has not only captured strong audience support but has also secured the number one spot on GSC’s Top 10 chart, surpassing several globally recognised franchises.
MONSTA CEO and film director Nizam Abd Razak said he was deeply grateful that the film was chosen as a must-watch family activity during the school holidays, noting that audience-driven support played a major role in its success.
Astro Shaw chief and executive producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said the film’s performance underscores Malaysia’s ability to produce world-class animation content capable of standing alongside major Hollywood releases.
Papa Zola The Movie continues its run in local and regional cinemas and is set to expand further into international markets in 2026.
