KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s very own Hollywood icon and Academy Award winner Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh will be lighting up Bukit Bintang on January 3 as she makes a special appearance at the Visit Malaysia 2026 launch celebration.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming confirmed that Yeoh will be attending the event with her husband Jean Todt, adding glamour and global appeal to the highly anticipated celebration in Kuala Lumpur’s busiest shopping district.
The event, organised together with Tourism Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur City Hall, will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and broadcast live nationwide.
Taking place in front of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the evening programme promises an exciting festivity of lights, music and culture. Highlights include the first-ever Bukit Bintang Parade featuring 20 contingents, live performances by singer Faizal Tahir, cultural showcases by Istana Budaya, special appearances by “Abang Sado Bomba” and a dazzling fireworks show.
The event will be open to the public, offering locals and tourists alike the opportunity to experience the lively atmosphere as Malaysia begins its journey towards the Visit Malaysia 2026 tourism milestone.
With Yeoh’s star presence and a vibrant celebration planned, the launch aims not only to draw international attention but also to instil national pride as Malaysia prepares to welcome millions of global visitors in the coming years.
