LANGKAWI: As Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), Langkawi is stepping up its momentum with a comprehensive line-up of 50 major events throughout the year, highlighting its natural beauty and unique tourism charm.
LADA has set an ambitious target of 3.65 million tourist arrivals and RM8.38 billion in tourism revenue this year.
According to LADA CEO Datuk Seri Iskandar Mohd Kaus, Langkawi’s appeal lies in its unspoiled natural landscapes, from beaches and mountains dating back millions of years to scenic waterfalls, all contributing to its distinct identity.
He added that beyond its scenery, Langkawi’s reputation for warm hospitality remains a core attraction for visitors.
The planned events, covering sports, cultural and community-based programmes, reflect an increase in scale compared to previous years.
With strong cooperation between agencies and industry stakeholders, Langkawi is poised to remain competitive while strengthening its position as Malaysia’s flagship tourism destination ahead of VM2026.
