KUALA LUMPUR: Flood conditions across several states showed mixed developments today, with Sarawak recording a significant rise in evacuees, Johor showing signs of improvement, while Melaka has completely recovered.
Sarawak saw the number of flood victims jump to 791 individuals from 204 families by late afternoon, with multiple areas around Kuching affected and several relief centres still operating.
In Johor’s Segamat district, evacuee numbers dropped slightly to 136 from 37 families, although rivers in the area remain at dangerous levels and certain roads remained closed.
In contrast, Melaka’s situation has stabilised fully, with the final relief centre officially closed after all victims were allowed to return to their homes.
