BATU PAHAT — Efforts to locate two fishermen missing since Saturday in Batu Pahat waters are ongoing, with authorities expanding the search radius to 207 square nautical miles, though no signs of the victims have been detected so far.
Batu Pahat Maritime Zone director Mohammad Zaini Zainal said the search remains concentrated near the area where the fishermen were last reported to have fallen into the sea.
He said the operation involves multiple agencies, including the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Marine Police, Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Force, alongside assistance from local fishing communities.
Authorities have urged fishermen and other sea users to remain vigilant, monitor weather conditions closely and ensure safety precautions are taken before heading out to sea.
