Police Hunt Another Suspect in Nilai Murder Case

NILAI — Police are on the lookout for an additional suspect after CCTV footage helped identify a man believed to be involved in the fatal stabbing of a man at an apartment in Mantin last month.

The Nilai district police chief said the suspect was captured on CCTV in the vicinity of the apartment on the night of Dec 28, wearing a face mask and a hooded shirt.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had approached a security guard earlier to ask for the victim’s residence before leaving the area several hours later, raising suspicion about his involvement.

“He is currently the main suspect, and police are working to locate him to assist with ongoing investigations,” the police said.

Initial findings showed that the victim, aged in his 30s, was stabbed 12 times, with injuries sustained to the head, chest and neck.

Previously, two local men were arrested and remanded to assist with the investigation, and police are expected to seek an extension of their remand period.

Police urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in resolving the case.
