The world number one’s court control and adaptability were on full display as he edged Taiwan’s Fang Jen-Yu 21–14, 19–21, 21–18 in a tightly contested singles final.
Later, Cheah’s seamless chemistry with Mohamad Faris Ahmad Azri proved decisive in the doubles final, where they outmanoeuvred India’s top seeds Hardik Makkar and Ruthick Ragupathi 23–21, 21–13.
Their victory highlighted Malaysia’s strategic depth in para badminton, combining veteran leadership with promising partnerships.
Completing a strong campaign for the national team, Muhammad Ikhwan Ramli delivered an impressive win in the WH1 singles, defeating Japan’s Shoichiro Eguchi 21–13, 21–12 to secure Malaysia’s third gold.
