Negeri Sembilan has reported 27,279 burst pipe incidents over the past four years, highlighting major challenges in the state’s water infrastructure, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Seremban recorded the highest number of cases, reflecting pressure on ageing urban pipe systems. Repair works, replacements and road restoration have cost the state approximately RM147 million.
Aminuddin said each report is handled promptly through temporary water shutdowns, pipe repairs and gradual restoration of supply to minimise disruption.
To address long-term issues, 68 areas covering 243 km of worn-out pipes will be replaced using allocations from PETRA, PAAB and SAINS.
