MOSCOW, Aug 7 — Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed that relations between Moscow and Kuala Lumpur are at a positive and constructive level, with ongoing communication between various government agencies.
During a meeting with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim at the Kremlin, as reported by Russian news agency TASS, Putin warmly welcomed His Majesty and the Malaysian delegation, highlighting nearly six decades of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
“Political dialogue is at a good level. We communicate at the governmental and parliamentary levels and maintain continuous engagement,” said Putin.
He emphasized that various departments and senior officials from both countries remain in frequent contact.
“Our government leaders have visited each other’s countries, and I have maintained good relations with them,” he added.
Russia-World Islamic Group Cooperation
Putin also praised Malaysia’s active role in the Russia–Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, describing it as “an effective tool for cooperation and a platform for mutual understanding between Russia and Islamic countries.”
Personal Reflections on Malaysia
In a warm and personal tone, Putin shared fond memories of his previous three visits to Malaysia, expressing admiration for the country’s natural beauty and hospitality.
“I don’t need to mention the country’s extraordinary natural beauty. We have always been received with great warmth and respect. My delegation and I cherish those memories with deep gratitude,” he said.
Putin expressed confidence that Sultan Ibrahim’s state visit to Russia would yield meaningful results and strengthen bilateral ties.
“I hope Your Majesty and your delegation will have the opportunity to experience Moscow — one of the most dynamic and vibrant metropolises in the world,” he concluded.
