Subang Jaya Police Probe Death of Woman in Her 20s as Murder Case

SUBANG JAYA, Aug 17— Police have launched an investigation into the death of a local woman in her 20s, who was found dead at a residence in USJ 2/1 here.

According to Subang Jaya District Police Chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, the district police operations room received a call regarding the incident at around 11.55am on August 14.

“The caller, who was the victim’s father, discovered his daughter hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room on the second floor of their house. A medical assistant later confirmed that the victim had died,” he said in a statement.

A post-mortem examination was conducted by a pathologist at Serdang Hospital, which confirmed the cause of death as hemorrhage around the hyoid bone (neck bone). The injuries sustained to the victim’s muscles and bones were consistent with manual strangulation.

Wan Azlan said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“Further investigations are ongoing to obtain more details and determine the motive of the incident. We advise the public not to speculate about this case on social media,” he added.
