KUCHING: More than 14,000 participants have joined Sarawak’s biggest running event, the Kuching Marathon 2025, which is now entering its 10th year.

Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that registered participants can now collect their participation numbers and race packs until this Saturday.

“I don’t know if registration for the Kuching Marathon is still open, but today (Wednesday) participants can collect their participation numbers and race packs until Saturday.

“I also hope that the Kuching Marathon continues to grow bigger from year to year, maybe one day the number of participants can reach 20,000 or 30,000 participants,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters after visiting the distribution of the Kuching Marathon X 2025 race packs on Wednesday.

The Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts also praised the organisation of this Kuching Marathon.

He explained that he was impressed after witnessing the efficient organisation including the distribution of the race packs on Wednesday.

“Not only before the race, but also during the marathon before, we can see how the management of this race is very organised and orderly.

“This organisation clearly shows a high level of discipline, so we also hope that this year’s marathon runs smoothly,” he said.
