KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia and AmInvest have launched the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia ETF, the country’s first and only Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI)-recognised exchange-traded fund.
The ETF tracks the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index, which measures companies’ performance based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.
Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said the launch demonstrates the exchange’s and AmInvest’s shared commitment to sustainability and market innovation.
AmInvest currently leads Malaysia’s ETF market with RM1.8 billion in assets under management (AUM), representing 75.4% of market share, and also manages RM4.3 billion in SRI funds.
AmFunds Management CEO Kevin Wong said the initiative aims to boost awareness among retail investors of ETF investing, which offers lower costs and diversified exposure compared to individual stocks.
