Putrajaya is abuzz with talk of a reshuffle after Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu revealed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will brief his ministers during Tuesday’s meeting — a move widely seen as paving the way for changes within the administration.
The speculation comes amid shifting Cabinet dynamics: Datuk Ewon Benedick’s resignation has left a key portfolio vacant, while the Senate tenures of Zambry Abdul Kadir and Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz are nearing their end.
Analysts suggest Anwar could use the reshuffle to recalibrate his government ahead of the Sabah state election and strengthen his leadership in the Madani coalition.
Speaking after the Amanah National Convention, Mohamad said no formal notice has been issued, adding,
“We’ll hear it directly from the prime minister on Tuesday.”
Party insiders say any changes will likely reflect performance reviews, ensuring a more balanced Cabinet line-up going into 2026.
