Storm clouds are rolling over parts of Malaysia this evening as MetMalaysia issues a severe thunderstorm alert for ten states and territories, warning of intense rain, thunder, and strong winds expected until 9pm.
The warning, released at 5.45pm, covers Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak, Sabah, and Labuan, where unstable weather systems have begun to form.
According to MetMalaysia, the advisory is issued when rain intensity exceeds 20 millimetres per hour, signalling the likelihood of prolonged thunderstorms.
Residents are urged to stay indoors, avoid open areas, and monitor official updates as the storm front moves through several regions tonight.
