MACC strengthens monitoring ahead of Sabah polls with 24-hour operations rooms

PUTRAJAYA — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah today launched a series of 24-hour operations rooms in preparation for the 17th Sabah state election, providing a direct channel for the public to lodge complaints or share information on corruption and abuse of power.

In a statement, MACC said the operations rooms will be open from Nov 10 until Dec 5 and are located at its branch offices in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, and Keningau.

Members of the public may also submit reports through prnsabah@sprm.gov.my.

MACC urged all election candidates and political parties to comply fully with the MACC Act 2009 and the Election Offences Act 1954 (Amendment 2012) to ensure fair and transparent campaigning.

The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled Nov 15 as nomination day, Nov 25 for early voting, and Nov 29 as the official polling day for the 17th Sabah state election.
