Ahead of Sabah State Polls, BN Delays Decision on MIC’s Role in Coalition

PUTRAJAYA: BN is postponing formal discussions on MIC’s continued membership until after the Sabah state election, reflecting the coalition’s prioritisation of electoral strategy, said secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.

He noted that all component parties are aligned in focusing first on the Sabah contest, with broader coalition matters to be addressed later.

Zambry also hinted that the BN Supreme Council is likely to convene following the conclusion of the election.

MIC’s potential exit from BN remains unresolved after party delegates voted unanimously to endorse the motion at their AGM, pending review by the Central Working Committee.
