KUALA LUMPUR: Human Resources Minister Steven Sim has highlighted that the arts community remains the least represented among contributors to the LINDUNG Kendiri scheme, despite the programme surpassing 860,000 self-employed participants.
Only 9,660 contributors originate from the arts sector — a mere 1.12 percent. Sim stressed that more awareness is needed as creative workers also face unpredictable job-related risks.
He said outreach programmes and matching contribution initiatives will be expanded to increase participation.
