Education Ministry Investigating Claims of SPM Exam Papers Being Sold

PUTRAJAYA — The Ministry of Education has launched an investigation into claims that SPM examination papers are being sold by parties alleging to have access to leaked materials.

Education Director-General Dr. Mohd Azam Ahmad said that although the ministry has yet to receive formal complaints, it is closely monitoring the claims that have spread on social media.

He reiterated that the Examination Board maintains strict protocols over the storage, distribution and security of SPM papers, including in flood-prone areas.

Several screenshots circulating online show individuals offering SPM papers for RM499 per subject, along with refund guarantees if candidates do not score well — raising further concerns among parents and educators.

To safeguard the integrity of the examination, Dr. Azam said additional steps have already been taken, including storing questions at police lockups where necessary.

This year’s SPM involves 413,372 candidates across various schooling categories, with examinations beginning today with Bahasa Melayu Paper 1.
