Two major roads in Terengganu were closed today after floodwaters rose above safe levels.

MARANG, Nov 26 – Two roads in Terengganu have been closed to all vehicles after rising floodwaters made them unsafe for travel.

Terengganu Public Works Department director, Ir. Dr. Hasli Ibrahim, said the LPT–Bukit Payong connector road near the traffic light junction along Federal Route FT250 was shut down after water levels reached 0.8 metres.

The closure began at 10am and is expected to last up to two days, depending on weather conditions.

Motorists may still use an alternative route near the FT250 junction via the exit to Pasir Tinggi.

Another affected route is Jalan Permaisuri–Hulu Seladang in Kampung Besut, Setiu, which was also closed due to flooding. No alternative route is currently available for this road.

Dr. Hasli advised road users to follow instructions from authorities and remain vigilant, especially during the monsoon season.
