Wings frontman Datuk Awie says he holds no resentment toward Eddie and Black after their recent departure from the band, even though it happened just days before the Wings 40: 4 Dekad Terbang Tinggi anniversary celebration.
Speaking during the Sembilu: The Reunion Live in Concert press event, Awie said that band separations happen everywhere and should not be viewed as something unusual.
“No band keeps the same people forever. It’s normal — that’s just how the world works.”
Awie admitted that both former bandmates still hold a special place in his heart.
“I don’t usually reveal my prayers, but I’ll say it today. I always ask for them to be healthy, successful, and blessed with sustenance. Every time I prostrate, their names are included.”
He also clarified that remarks he made during the final segment of the concert — thought by some to be references to betrayal — were actually tied to the show’s song arrangement and not meant to attack anyone.
