KOTA KINABALU — Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, the long-serving Kinabatangan Member of Parliament and chairman of UMNO Sabah, passed away at 1.46am today.
His son, Naim Kurniawan, confirmed the news through a Facebook post, expressing the family’s sorrow and asking Malaysians to pray for the late leader.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Moktar bin Radin, on December 5, 2025, at 1.46am (14 Jamadilakhir 1447H). May Allah grant him mercy and place him among the righteous,” the message read.
Prior to his death, Bung Moktar had been receiving intensive treatment at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu for kidney failure and a serious lung infection.
