IPOH: Malaysia’s push to expand accessible green spaces has gained fresh momentum after the Ministry of Housing and Local Government allocated RM85.6 million to support the development of MADANI Recreation Parks (TRM) under the National Landscape Department.
Minister Nga Kor Ming announced that progress has been encouraging, with 216 parks completed nationwide — significantly exceeding this year’s projections. The long-term goal of 1,000 TRM remains intact.
Nga highlighted Perak’s achievement as the state with the most TRM, and said enhanced safety systems, including CCTV installations, will be implemented at TRM locations to prevent vandalism and protect public facilities.
He also officiated the 100th Community Space (RUKOM), which serves as a social and educational hub for residents, particularly in PPR areas.
